Marshall Touts Her Experience
Democratic Senate candidate Elaine Marshall said she is the most seasoned candidate running in the May 4th primary.
"You are going to get folks in this campaign who say 'I want to do this, I will do this,'" Marshall, the four-term secretary of state, told about 20 people at the student union at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington on Monday, Rob Christensen reports.
"I say go with someone with a proven track record,” Marshall said. "I don't have to promise you what I think can do. I can can show you black and white, book and page, my accomplishments. I think that is going to be crucial in this election."
Marshall said she wanted to go to Washington to be the voice of regular people and fight the special interests.
"America voted for change in 2008," Marshall said. "And as you well know, a lot of people are unhappy because they are not seeing it. They look at Washington and they see a lot of politicians and business interests standing in the way of the change they voted for."
